How to choose the most suitable clinic
Leeds is often the practical choice for patients from Roundhay, Headingley, Horsforth, Wetherby, Harrogate, York and Wakefield. Bingley is often practical for Bradford, Shipley, Saltaire, Keighley, Ilkley, Skipton and Halifax. Some procedures may be planned at a specific hospital because of theatre availability, equipment or recovery arrangements, so the first appointment is used to match the clinical need with the right setting.
Before booking
Bring or send GP letters, scan reports, PSA results, urine culture results, medication lists and insurance authorisation if applicable. If symptoms are severe, such as inability to pass urine, fever with stone pain, heavy bleeding or suspected sepsis, use urgent NHS services rather than waiting for a private outpatient appointment.
Which secretary should I call?
If you want to be seen at Spire Leeds Hospital, contact Mrs Sue Cole on +44 113 218 5957. If you want to be seen at The Yorkshire Clinic, contact Mrs Emma Hastings on +44 1274 550 845. If you are unsure which clinic is best, email [email protected] with your location, the problem, any referral letter and whether you are self-paying or insured.
Will my procedure be at the same hospital?
Not always. The first appointment is used to assess the problem and decide what, if anything, needs to happen next. Some tests and procedures are arranged according to equipment, theatre lists, anaesthetic requirements and the safest pathway for the condition. The secretary will explain the practical details once a treatment plan has been agreed.
Patients from outside Leeds and Bradford
Patients from Harrogate, York, Wakefield and Halifax often choose the clinic with the most convenient journey or earliest suitable appointment. The aim is to make the clinic route clear from the start, especially where the nearest private appointment is in Leeds or Bingley rather than in the patient's home town.
