Private prostate surgery in Yorkshire
Mr Sanjay Rajpal offers private assessment and treatment for enlarged prostate symptoms in Yorkshire, with clinics at Spire Leeds Hospital and The Yorkshire Clinic in Bingley. This page brings the local prostate surgery information into one stronger hub rather than separate thin city pages.
When prostate surgery may be considered
Many men with urinary symptoms do not need an operation. Surgery is usually considered when symptoms remain troublesome despite lifestyle changes or medication, when the bladder is not emptying properly, when infections or bleeding recur, or when prostate size makes a more durable procedure sensible.
Symptoms that often start the discussion
- Slow flow, hesitancy or stopping and starting.
- Urgency, frequency or needing to pass urine several times at night.
- A feeling that the bladder has not emptied.
- Recurrent urinary infections or bladder stones linked to obstruction.
- Retention of urine or repeated catheter problems.
How the right procedure is chosen
The best operation depends on prostate size and shape, bleeding risk, catheter history, bladder function, medication, general health and personal priorities such as ejaculation preservation. A consultation may include symptom scoring, flow testing, bladder scan, urine testing, PSA review, cystoscopy or imaging where needed.
Private prostate treatment options
- HoLEP surgery in Yorkshire - a durable laser enucleation option, particularly useful for larger prostates.
- GreenLight laser - laser vaporisation, often considered when bleeding risk and recovery profile are important.
- Aquablation - robotic water-jet treatment for selected men.
- BPH assessment - a broader guide to symptoms, tests and non-surgical options.
- HoLEP vs Aquablation vs GreenLight - a comparison guide for men weighing treatment choices.
Leeds and Bradford clinic routes
At Spire Leeds, appointments are arranged through Mrs Sue Cole on +44 113 218 5957. At The Yorkshire Clinic, appointments are arranged through Mrs Emma Hastings on +44 1274 550 845. Both clinics can also be contacted through [email protected].
What to bring to consultation
Bring PSA results, urine tests, medication lists, GP letters, scan reports and any previous prostate or bladder investigations. If you have a catheter, recurrent infections, blood in the urine or previous prostate surgery, those details are important because they change the safest treatment plan.
Fees and insurance
An initial consultation is £220 and follow-up is £140. Most major private medical insurers are recognised, including AXA Health, Aviva, WPA and Cigna. Self-paying patients are welcome, and insured patients should check authorisation before the first appointment.
