Kidney stone surgery in Leeds
For Leeds patients with kidney or ureteric stones, Mr Sanjay Rajpal offers prompt private assessment and treatment at Spire Leeds Hospital. From a first scan through to becoming stone-free — and staying that way — he provides the full range of modern stone surgery and a clear prevention plan.
How kidney stones are treated
Treatment depends on the size, position and hardness of the stone, and on your kidney function. Mr Rajpal offers:
- Flexible ureteroscopy and laser — a scarless day-case treatment for most stones.
- Mini-PCNL — keyhole surgery for larger or complex stones.
- Metabolic assessment — investigation and prevention for recurrent stone formers.
Urgent stone symptoms
Severe loin pain, fever with urinary symptoms, or visible blood in the urine should be assessed promptly. If you are acutely unwell, contact NHS 111 or attend A&E; for private assessment of a known or suspected stone, contact the practice directly.
Consultant-delivered private care
Mr Rajpal is a substantive NHS Consultant Urological Surgeon at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust. Leeds private patients are seen and treated by him personally, with continuity from the first consultation through to treatment and follow-up.
Fees and insurance
Initial consultations start from £220. AXA Health, Aviva, WPA, Cigna and most major insurers are recognised, and self-pay patients are welcome.
